You want it all and you've got it with the Coco Loco. Just don't say we didn't warn you that you've got to be ready to go non-stop because this trip plan isn't designed for rest and relaxation. Hiking, white water rafting, canyoning & waterfall rappels, hot springs, horseback riding, ATV four wheeling, and a high speed zip-line through the cloud forest canopy...whew!

Day 1 — Hotel Arenal Springs Resort (4 Nights)Hotel Arenal Springs Resort (4 Nights)
Your VIP greeter will be waiting to assist with your luggage and get you on your way to La Fortuna as soon as your flight touches down at the international airport. Shift into vacation mode when you arrive at Arenal Springs Ecoresort, sip a drink on your private terrace while enjoying the exuberant tropical gardens and the best views of Arenal volcano. Relax while you can because tomorrow the adventures start, and they don't stop until you head home.

Day 2 — Lost Canyon Adventures CanyoneeringLost Canyon Adventures Canyoneering
Canyoning is the fastest growing adventure sport in Costa Rica and an amazing introduction to the jungle. As you and your team make your way through the lost canyon, guides will assist you through four rappels including one waterfall over 100 feet high, wade through streams, jump into pools and have some serious fun. Includes door-to-door transportation, all safety gear, expert bilingual guides and a hearty lunch at the mouth of the canyon.

Day 3 — Rio Toro RaftingRio Toro Rafting
Enjoy breakfast and a relaxing morning because next you're headed for one of Costa Rica's premier white water rivers. The Río Toro boasts class III & IV rapids with names like Los Nadadores (the swimmers), Kamikaze, La Ducha (the shower) and Piña Colada. Includes door-to-door transportation, all safety gear, expert bilingual guides, safety kayakers (to pull "los nadadores" to shore if necessary) and a hearty lunch at a private riverside dining terrace.

Day 4 — Arenal Volcano Hike
Arenal Volcano dominates every view from anywhere in the region, but to really see the eruptive action and lava flows you need to be in the right place at the right time. The right place is the observation clearing at the end of a short walk through the rain forest and the right time is late afternoon and early evening when your guide will accompany you on the volcano viewing hike.

Baldi Termale Hot SpringsBaldi Termale Hot Springs
After the thrill of Arenal rumbling and erupting you're in for a relaxing evening at Baldi Hot Springs enjoying the geothermally heated mineral waters as the volcano continues to rumble in the background. The kids area (big kids or little) features water slides while the adults can enjoy a more sedate romantic atmosphere and swim up bar. Between dips towel off and enjoy a leisurely buffet dinner (included).

Day 5 — Horseback Shortcut to MonteverdeHorseback Shortcut to Monteverde
Forget the four hour drive and enjoy views of the volcano on a boat ride across Lake Arenal. At the dock saddled up for the easy horseback ride along the south shore to the stables where a transfer will be waiting to take you to the Trapp Family Lodge. Adventure, scenery, fun and transportation rolled into one!

(If you don't enjoy riding, a horseless transfer option is available)

Nestled in the cloud forest, the Trapp Family Lodge is the closest to the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve and the only one within walking distance. Each room has a view into the tree tops and you'll enjoy birds and other wildlife that don't really notice where the official boundary of the reserve is and end up outside your windows.

Day 6 — ATV Adventure Tour Monteverde
Today you will go on a thrilling ATV adventure through the hills of Monteverde. Strap on your helmet and hit the throttle on your quad to head out exploring the Costa Rican countryside on back roads and trails.

Hiking, birdwatching, horseback riding and other options are available on request.

Day 7 — Zipline Canopy Tour Monteverde
After a week of extreme adventure and fun in the sun, how can we possibly top it off? How about a high speed, high flying canopy zipline adventure? Today you will soar through the canopy of the cloud forest on 16 separate cables and top off your adventure with a swing on an enormous Tarzan Swing!
