Hit the highlights and best adventures Costa Rica has to offer and see a few monkeys along the way! The Funky Monkey visits the must see destinations of Arenal Volcano for hotsprings and active adventures and Manuel Antonio Rainforest National Park for wildlife and beaches.

Day 1 — Hotel Arenal Springs Resort (3 Nights)Hotel Arenal Springs Resort (3 Nights)
Ideally situated for the best views directly across from Arenal volcano, the 4 star Arenal Springs Ecoresort is set in isolated tropical gardens. Take advantage of the pool or head to your private terrace and enjoy a cool drink and a traditional Sarchí rocker while the sun sets beside the perfect cone of the volcano.

Day 2 — Arenal Volcano Hike
Arenal is the third most active volcano in the world and erupts every 5-10 minutes. Each eruption could be anything from a little ash to giant boulders and tons of lava and in the late afternoon a bilingual naturalist guide will lead you on a short hike through the rainforest to the closest safe observation point where you'll have a chance to view the glow emerge on the cone as the sun sets.

Optional - This evening is the perfect opportunity if you'd like to visit Tabacón or other hotsprings for a relaxing dinner and soak.

Day 3 — Rio Toro RaftingRio Toro Rafting
Enjoy breakfast and a relaxing morning because next you're headed for one of Costa Rica's premier white water rivers. The Río Toro boasts class III & IV rapids with names like Los Nadadores (the swimmers), Kamikaze, La Ducha (the shower) and Piña Colada.

Includes door-to-door transportation, all gear, expert bilingual guides, safety kayakers (to pull "los nadadores" to shore if necessary) and a hearty lunch at a private riverside dining terrace.

Day 4 — The Falls at Manuel Antonio - Standard (3 nights)The Falls at Manuel Antonio - Standard (3 nights)

The resort is surrounded by lush tropical gardens and waterfalls, providing a serene environment and splendid views. Each Standard room provides a king size bed, a full bath with large walk in shower, cable television with DVD, mini-bar, overhead fan and air conditioning for your absolute enjoyment and comfort. Additionally, each room offers a covered porch with sitting area and a hammock for relaxation. Breakfast is included daily

Day 5 — Canyoneering Adventure Manuel Antonio
The ultimate intimate tropical jungle experience in the rain forest as you, your bilingual guide and team work your way from top to bottom of the Río Quebrada de Arroyo on a canyoning adventure through pools and streams making your way across an Indiana Jones swinging bridge to waterfalls over 100 feet high where you'll gear-up and rappel down!

All safety gear, transportation, a trained guide and a hearty typical lunch are included.

Day 6 — Beach Day Manuel Antonio
There is an eponymous "Playa Manuel Antonio", but the region boasts half a dozen beaches each with a character of its own. From the little arcing gems of Escondido and Manuel Antonio within the national park, backed by palms and rain forest giants teaming with wildlife to the Espadillas stretching long and flat north of the park entrance, backed by casual restaurants and surfside bars and teaming with volleyball players and sunbathers there's one perfect for everyone.

Optional - Surf school with board rental is just one of the many other options if lounging on the beach with a cool drink just sounds too relaxing for you.

Day 7 — Adiós ¡Hasta Luego!Adiós ¡Hasta Luego!
From Manuel Antonio it's about two hours back to the international airport so if you have a late flight take some time to explore Quepos. There are plenty of restaurants, bars, surf shops, souvenir vendors and other tourist geared shopping, and if you look a little closer you'll find a lot of the original fishing village character still intact. The mercado central still has the traditional fruit, fish, meat and vegetable stalls as well as an assortment of excellent sodas to sample.

Thank you for traveling with us and of course ¡Pura Vida!
