Hotel 1492 is a lovely small hotel in a Spanish-style house on a quiet residential street east of downtown. The walls are hung with gorgeous paintings of tropical flora, painted by the original owner of the house, artist Amalia Jiménez Volio.

Rooms are quiet and well-appointed, and three different breakfast menus are served in the garden.

Seniors might especially like this hotel because it is all on one level. Pets are also welcome. Recommended.
