La Posada del Museo is a restored home built in 1928 with decorative ceramic tile floors and an inner second-floor balcony that gives a spacious, airy feel to the main entrance. Rooms are simple with many old-fashioned touches that add to the charm.

Next door, the friendly, helpful Argentine owners have a popular café and art gallery that serves daily specials, a host of homemade pastries and desserts, and cappuccino.

The hotel’s location, kitty-corner from the entrance to the excellent National Museum (Calle 17, Avenida 2) on the relatively peaceful Jimenez Oreamuno pedestrian walkway, is a major reason for staying there. Recommended.
