The tall National Insurance Institute (INS) houses the largest collection of American pre-Columbian jade in the world in the Jade Museum on the first floor.

This museum rivals the National Museum in its extensive exhibits of pre-Columbian jade, gold, stonework, and ceramics. The Jade Museum should be high on your list of places to visit.

A new building that will house the Jade Museum’s complete collection is scheduled to be built across from the Plaza de la Democracia, so check its location before setting out.

Open weekdays, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., admission $2, children under 12 free.
