Is a 100-acre organic farm and educational retreat dedicated to setting an example of sustainable living through permaculture. They host school and retreat groups (up to 40 people) for a day or several weeks, so visitors can get the experience of living a “simple unplugged life” ($400/month for room and board). It’s accessible by a 1.5-hour hike five kilometers south of Manzanillo (ask at Aquamor or Maxi’s for someone to walk you in, $20/person), or by arranging for a boat to take you there in 15 minutes. You can meet their captain, Bako, at Maxi’s ($15/person).
