Maker of Costa Rica’s excellent export-quality coffee, Café Britt has an educational tour of its operations, including a lively show about coffee’s vital role in forging Costa Rican democracy, featuring professional performers and multimedia entertainment. Their Teatro Dionisio Echeverría also features weekly concerts by some of Costa Rica’s finest musicians, as well as innovative plays and cinema. After the tour, visit Café Don Próspero, where local delicacies are used to create dishes like macadamia chicken, accompanied by an extensive fruit and salad bar, and finished off by gourmet coffee and pastries. To get to Café Britt, continue uphill from McDonald’s in Heredia, turn left at the first stop sign and right after the 500 meters, then follow the Coffee tour signs on the road to Barva.
