The European-owned Hotel Plinio has single-story jungle-view rooms ($50-$80; with a/c, $60-$90), and suites of either two ($70-$110) or three levels ($80-$130), featuring raised king-size beds from which you can enjoy a coastal view. There is also an A-frame house (with kitchenette) in the jungle with an ocean view.

The hotel is surrounded by lush foliage, and has a 70-acre forest reserve with a nature trail that leads up the mountain to a 15-meter observation tower. The hotel’s restaurant (open daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner), offers Italian cuisine, and their Tiki Bar at the pool serves lighter fare.
