Across from Sí Como No hotel, is a 30-acre reserve bordering the national park. A short hike takes you to a beautifully designed 400-square meter atrium where you can see many butterfly species, including the heavenly blue morpho. It’s best to go on a sunny day because the butterflies are more active. The tour is also a great botany lesson as you learn the relationship between plants and butterfly life cycle. At night, the atrium’s amphitheater is the setting for an audio-visual presentation where animals’ sounds are paired with their images so that you can recognize a toucan, for instance, before you see it. You can take the night tour in combination with a great dinner at Sí Como No. They also have a reptile exhibit and frog ponds.

Open daily, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., tours run at specific times.
